"For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt." - Deuteronomy 10:17-19
"Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." - Hebrews 13:1-2
Our God is one that loves the outsider and the foreigner living amongst us. He commands us to share his love for them as we are outsiders and aliens in the world also, waiting to return to our true home in heaven. At NEAC, we aim to share this heart for the stranger, through BikeShed, Room for Many and Ride for Refugees.
Ride for Refugees supports a number of projects that give practical and spiritual help to refugees and help them to settle into their new home in Australia. You can find out more about the projects they support, here: https://rideforrefugees.com.au/our-projects/
Ride for Refugees is a day where people will gather to cycle 25, 50, 75 or 100kms and raise funds to support these projects. It will be taking place on Saturday 24 August at Sydney International Regatta Centre. NEAC will be entering a team and raising funds.
